The Bible Tells Us Of World Conditions When Jesus Comes

Luke 17:26-30, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.”

The following was written by one of my favorite fundamentalist Bible preachers, Pastor Lee Roberson (1909-2007). This information is taken from Dr. Roberson's book titled, “Ten Thousand Tears,” pages 28 to 30:
The wickedness of the days of Noah and the days of Lot will be known in the day of the coming of the Son of man. Let us turn to II Timothy 3:1-5 and notice what we will find regarding the days preceding His coming.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Now, what about world conditions when He comes?

First, the world will be in a time of awful sin. Sin is on the increase. Sin will continue to increase until the coming of our Lord. The post millennial doctrine presented the idea of steady spiritual improvement until the coming of Christ. This is pretty much out of the way, but still there are people who will talk about improving conditions. There are still some who believe the world is getting better and better. The Bible leaves no doubt regarding the day of His coming Study your Bible regarding the time of Noah and of Lot.

Second, the day of His coming will be a day of sleepy, sinful unconsciousness. That is the reason Paul gave the admonitions of I Thessalonians 5. Listen to his words:
1st Thessalonians 5:1-8, “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”
Again, in the day of the coming of our Lord, there will be scoffers. Peter tells us:
2nd Peter 3:3-4, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
Another indication of this day is given to us by the Lord when He said, “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

Third, in the coming of our Lord there will be a falling away from the faith. There will be a turning from simple faith in the Bible.
2nd Thessalonians 2:3-4, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
In the time of the second coming of our Lord there will be many who will try to exalt themselves by saying, “I am Christ.”

There will be “wars and rumours of wars” throughout this entire age; and even unto the coming of our Saviour, nation will still be rising up against nation.

Of course, our political leaders cannot understand these truths which come to us from the Bible.
